Life and Times in Taiwan

Hello to everyone back home in the States. Sorry its been so long since i put up an update on my blog. Alot has happened since my last entry. I was at home after coming back from spain for a few months waiting for my agent to find me something new and started to train my group of ladies. I finally got the call from my agent and am here in Taiwan finishing the last two and a half months of the season and hopefully more with the playoffs. Taiwan has been a very interesting new world. I played in Europe my first 3 seasons but Asia is alot different. Just the language, food and people are different than Europe and the States. But it is a good different and I enjoy learning new cultures. Since I have been here for the first month I have been playing well. To this point we are 5-3 with me in the lineup (I just recently hurt my ankle and sat out a few games) and I won MVP for week 7 in the season. If you all want to check up and follow my season you can go to http://www.taiwanhoops.com/ and there you can find different articles and statistics to follow whats going on with me over here. I've posted a few pics so you can see how different it is over here and I will have some video coming soon. Im out...

A day at practice

Im back with another blog for all my followers. I know people wonder what a practice is like overseas so i decided to bring you all along with me for one. A normal day at practice normally for me is getting up around 10:00 and eating a little breakfast. I like to get to the practice facility early and put up shots before the rest of the guys get there. Morning practice normally starts at about 11:30 or 12. So i try to get there about an hour early to put up a couple hundred shots. After that practice is about to get ready to start and we go into our normal routine. Basically practice over here is pretty light. Especially now that preseason has tailed off and the regular season is looming. Now everything is just fine tuning. Making sure guys know the offense and doing alot of skill work in practice. Things like shooting and situational things that you will face from game to game. After practice we hit the weight room with the physio (trainer) and go through whatever he has on the agenda for us to do. Its not to much but it definitely helps your body through the grind of the season. The weights help you get through the bumps and bruises that you will take during 40-50 games. After that you hit the showers and go home for some lunch and rest. I hope you all like the video for this blog and i hope it gives some more insight on my life overseas. Im out.

Palau Sant Jordi and Olympic Stadium

I know alot of people at home have asked "do you get a chance to do much site seeing or touring of the city that your in?" Actually I do depending on the practice schedule during the week or when we get off days. So for this blog\video entry I wanted to take you guys on a tour of Palau Sant Jordi and the Olympic Stadium where the 1992 Olympic Games were held. The Stadium is where they held the opening and closing ceremonies. While in between it hosted the Track & Field competitions. Palau Sant Jordi is where some of the indoor sports such as Gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do and Fencing took place. Ive been to alot of tourists sites in Barcelona but this is one that I hadnt had a chance to make it to in the past two years I was over here. So I decided to bring you guys along with me. I really enjoy going to places like this because they are so different and unique and I wanted you all to see how different the scenery is here in a part of Europe. As for the culture here it is very rich in History and Tradition. What you will notice in the pics and videos is that the buildings and statues are very old. Sometimes maybe 100 to 200 years old. For the people here it is so important to preserve the heritage of their country. That is very fascinating to see that these parts of their culture seem to last so long. A few of the pics I included are a famous Bullfighting Ring, Statues, the symbol for the Barcelona Olympics ( the Olympic Ring) and both Palau Sant Jordi and the Olympic Stadium. I hope this blog and video give you some more insight on my life overseas playing ball. I hope you enjoy the video and there will be more blogs and videos coming soon. Im out

Back to work

Whats up to everyone back home and to whomever may be reading this blog. The summer came and went for me once again and now Im back overseas doing what I do. Playing the game i dearly love; basketball. Right now im currently in Barcelona, Spain practicing, staying in shape and getting ready for the upcoming season. I would like to start my first blog off by saying thanks to all the people that helped our first Strictly 4 the Love Tournament be a success. I want to give a big thanks to my cousin Brandon and friend Ariel for the time they put into that great event. I definitely want to give thanks to my fam for being there to help us through with there love and support. Uncles, Aunts, Mom, cousins, sister and friends. To the Rookies and Legends thanks for coming through and also helping and showing support for the event also. Definitely looking forward to the second annual tournament this upcoming summer. I know it will be BIG! Well this year is my Fourth year overseas and trust me the years are going by quickly. I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to give people a little peek at what goes on in my world (life) on a day to day basis. Especially for the up and coming ballplayers that have dreams and aspirations of one day playing college and or professional ball albeit NBA or Overseas. So this year im going to try and send two blogs and a video per week. Just so people can get an idea of how life is abroad. So stay tuned. Im out.
